Ambassador’s Statement for Tabaski (Eid al Adha)

On behalf of the American people and the U.S. Embassy in Bamako, I would like to wish the people of Mali a blessed and peaceful Tabaski.  During this sacred holiday, Muslims all around the world will gather with families, friends and neighbors to honor the values of faith, charity, devotion and self-sacrifice. These are values that we as Americans respect deeply and that we share in common with our friends here in Mali. I would also like to congratulate all the Malians –who will perform the Hajj this year.  I wish them a spiritually fulfilling experience and a safe return to their homes and families.

Tabaski is a holiday of solidarity to share with family and loved ones. I’m delighted and honored to share in the feast with my Malian friends who have always been so welcoming to me and our embassy family.
As guests and friends of the people of Mali, all of us at the U.S. Embassy extend our wishes to all of you for a safe and blessed holiday.  Eid Mubarak.
