The American Center in Bamako recently held an engaging session on public speaking techniques for 30 Malian women as part of a new women’s outreach program, Muso—designed to empower women to discuss critical community issues and learn tangible skills for personal and professional growth. The session was led by International Visitor Leadership Program alumnus and founder of NGO Live Your Dream, Alfousseyni Sidibe. During the session, the participants learned about public speaking techniques like non-verbal communication, breath control, word articulation and cadence, and body gestures and learned about online resources and organizations to support their continued skills development. The American Center is proud to support women’s empowerment because when women succeed, communities succeed!
