Charge D’affaires Andrew Young donated over 200 books at a presentation ceremony to the National Library of Mali on July 25.  The Minister of Culture of Mali, Ramatoulaye Diallo Ndiaye accepted the books on behalf of the Library.  The books are published by Nouveaux Horizons (NH) (the publishing arm of the U.S. Department of State’s Africa Regional Support services in Paris) and were originally displayed in Segou when the Embassy Public Affairs section took part in the first book fair organized in Mali outside of Bamako in April 2014.  The U.S. Embassy then decided to donate them to a Malian public institution where they will be heavily used by the general public, hence the choice of the National Library of Mali.
