Call for Applications

As part of the ECNOC / ECOWAS project on gender mainstreaming in a climate resilient energy system in West Africa, ECREEE, CRTC and PFAN are launching, through the US Embassy in Mali , a call for applications for projects. Women-owned businesses with clean energy solutions that will contribute to the economic empowerment of women in ECOWAS countries seeking investments of up to $ 50 million are invited to submit their proposals. project proposal before November 20, 2017. Applications must be submitted before 4 pm on November 20, 2017.

At least 10 projects or companies will be selected and supported by experienced professionals to develop a financially, socially and ecologically sustainable business plan that will play a crucial role in raising investor awareness.

At the end of the coaching phase, projects will be presented to interested investors and will receive support in monitoring and negotiation. PFAN and the CRTC will work closely with women-led businesses in the climate and clean energy sector in the ECOWAS region to leverage their expertise as agents of change.

The objective of this call for proposals is to facilitate the initiation and management of commercially viable energy projects by women entrepreneurs and to provide entrepreneurs with the technical, financial and other skills necessary to compete as producers and suppliers of energy. The ultimate goal of the Call is to promote economic and social equality of the sexes and to strengthen women’s resilience to the impacts of climate change.

The selected projects should contribute to the economic empowerment of women through productive uses of energy, helping to increase women’s productivity levels in agricultural, commercial and tertiary practices through the increased use of technology. renewable energies; build the capacity of women and in particular women farmers to use and maintain clean energy technologies; raise awareness and educate the public on the use of renewable energies for the eradication of poverty at the household level and, more broadly, for rural development.

Eligibility:

This call for proposals focuses exclusively on gender mainstreaming. To be eligible, projects and / or companies must operate in the ECOWAS area and meet at least two of the following criteria:

To be women entrepreneurs,

Being a company with a significant share of the shares held by women,

Being a company with a significant number of women in positions of responsibility,

Being a company with a significant number of female employees,

To be a company that provides important economic, social and climatic benefits to women.
