Distribution Campaign of Treated Mosquito Nets Launched

On April 5, the U.S. Embassy, in collaboration with the National Program for Combating Malaria in Mali (NPCMM), launched a mass distribution campaign for mosquito nets treated with long-lasting insecticide.  This donation of mosquito nets is part of the support the U.S. Government offers to Mali in its battle against malaria.  The donation is the fruit of close cooperation between the NPCMM and the Presidential Malaria Initiative of the United States.  Through this cooperation, approximately 1,270,000 treated mosquito nets are going to be distributed in the region of Kayes, aimed at achieving universal coverage.  Since its launch in 2007, the Presidential Malaria Initiative has purchased and distributed more than 6 million treated mosquito nets.
