The U.S. Embassy informs U.S. citizens that several organizations have scheduled a demonstration in Bamako on Saturday, May 21, 2016 starting at 7:30 a.m. The route for the planned march is from Place de la Liberté to Place de L’Indépendence and there could potentially be a large number of participants.
Remember, even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence. You should avoid areas of demonstrations, and exercise caution if in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.
