Message for U.S. Citizens: Travel Information – Bamako, Mali – January 22, 2022 

On January 9, 2022, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) placed sanctions on Mali which impacted available travel options.

While they are limited, commercial flight options remain available. We encourage U.S. citizens who wish to depart to carefully review flights, times, and itineraries of available options. Please see travel.state.gov to review entry requirements and local conditions for any intermediary destinations.

At the time of this message, airlines with available flights include, but may not be limited to: 

  • Turkish Airlines- daily to Istanbul, Turkey 

  • Ethiopian Airlines- six days a week to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia 

  • Air Mauritanie– five days a week to Nouakchott, Mauritania 

  • Sky Mali– three days a week to Conakry, Guinea

Reminder: All air passengers two years of age and over entering the United States (including U.S. citizens and Legal Permanent Residents) must present a negative COVID-19 test, taken within one (1) calendar day of departure, or proof of recovery from the virus within the last 90 days.
