Mr. Mamby Doumbia and Mr. Amassagou Michel Douyon, both English teachers at public high schools in Mopti, were selected as Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) fellows and completed six-week professional development programs at the University of North Carolina and at the University of Nevada in Reno, respectively.
After returning to Mali, Mr. Doumbia and Mr. Amassagou organized an information-sharing session with fellow teachers, students, and school administrators where they revealed teaching methodologies, technological innovations, and online resources they learned about in the United States with the goal of improving the quality of education for Mopti students.
The Fulbright TEA program is sponsored by the United States Department of State and brings together teachers from around the world to learn about American society, develop their subject-matter expertise, and improve their teaching skills.
