U.S. Embassy’s EducationUSA Program Promotes American Center Resources and Higher Education in United States at Private High School

The U.S. Embassy’s American Center in Bamako provided an EducationUSA briefing at the Kodon So private high school in Bamako to promote American Center resources and higher education study programs in the United States. One-hundred and twenty junior and senior high school students on the verge of taking the baccalaureate exam attended and learned about the “Five Steps to Study in the U.S.” and the three documents required to become a member of the American Center.  In remarks to the group, U.S. Embassy representatives stressed the importance of quality education in a nation’s development and encouraged the students to continue their studies—whether in Mali or the United States. During the Q&A session, students eagerly posed questions relating to various non-traditional study options, professional opportunities in the United States, extracurricular activities at U.S. universities, and USG exchange programs available to Malian students.
