USG Grantee Promotes Unity and Peace with Religious Leaders

On February 19, 2014, as part of its Unity and Peace Messaging Campaign funded through the U.S. government’s Trans-Sahara Counter-Terrorism Partnership, grantee Spirit-McCann conducted an interfaith dialogue workshop to bring religious leaders to discuss abuses by extremist groups during the occupation of two-thirds of Mali’s territory. The workshop was conducted by the Malian Association for Peace and Salvation (AMPS). Several influential religious leaders attended the workshop.  Many of the themes developed during the conference will be used to hone anti-extremism messages, which will be distributed to media outlets throughout the country.
